The Protection and Social Rehabilitation Center ( Aman), affiliated to Qatar Social Work Foundation, launched Senyar (2) Diving which is an online Qatari game, child-friendly and non-violent. It is an extension of Senyar (1) Fishing. The game is distinguished with its Qatari identity, and is now available to all children in an initial edition that can be downloaded electronically via mobile and other smart devices.

Aman Center has prepared an introductory pavilion for the Senyar (1) Fishing game (from 26  to 29 March) launched last year, as well as Senyar (2) Diving will continue from 2 to 5 April.

Aman Center launched Senyar (1) Fishing at the Cultural Village Foundation of Katara in April last year, in the presence of Her Excellency Amal Bint Abdul Latif Al Mannai, CEO of Qatar Foundation of Social Work, and His Excellency Dr. Khaled Bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, General Director of the General Culture Village foundation (Katara), where Katara is the strategic partner in this important project in the field of child safety and culture.

The game is an online edition of the Championship Senyar (2) Diving which is organized by Katara annually, which aims to raise awareness and education of the child. This game was issued as an alternative to electronic violence games, which controls most of the sales of the child market, a recent Qatari study targeting more than 1,000 children has been conducted, and the results were as follows:

• 85% of children play electronic games daily and for hours.
• 56% play electronically through the ONLINE network and with unknown people.
• 60% suffer negative behavioral changes such as violence, anger and health such as obesity and poor vision.

The study referred to the impact of electronic games on children, and that the child who spent hours playing these games makes him un-social and introverted. The study also found that (96%) of children have devices that allow them to play electronic games which they exercise more than 3 hours daily. In addition, most games used by children and adolescents have negative implications that affect all stages of their growth, also a large number of electronic games are based on entertainment with weapons games, fighting, destruction and demolition of buildings. The addiction of some psychologically harmful electronic games result to psychological diseases such as fear, social phobias, obsessive behavior, restless sleep, poor self-confidence, anxiety, aggressive behavior, hatred of others, distraction, poor thinking, convergence, confusion of reality and imagination, tension Nerves, hand pain, visual impairment, muscular and nervous spasms, and others.

Abdul Aziz Al-Ishaq Director of Awareness Management at Protection and Social Rehabilitation Center ( Aman) said that, the launch of Senyar (2)  Diving is an extension of the success of Senyar (1) Fishing which was launched last year, stressing that successful awareness will not be happen by  prevention, but by finding the Qatari alternative that achieves the fun and benefit together. He added that this event is a true embodiment of partnership with civil society organizations in the interest of one of the most important target Category the child, to achieve the strategic aim of Aman center to raise child awareness and protection and to develop his mind, as well as to avoid him the phenomena of violence through a method that combines fun and benefit, through an interactive child-friendly game and free of electronic violence, which increased with the technological progress of the electronic globalization era. He said the general aim is to reduce the demand for the most violent electronic games which negatively affect the behavior of our children, which is the aim of Aman center to protect our children.

Dr. Khaled Al Sulaiti: Senyar Game (1) Fishing and Senyar Game (2) Diving an example of successful using of technology.

 Dr. Khaled Bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, General Director of the General Culture Village foundation (Katara), expressed his happiness with the launch of Senyar (2) Diving as an extension of Senyar (1) fishing stressing that the presence of such games enhances the Qatari identity and enhances the children's knowledge and culture of the Qatari marine environment and the heritage of the grandparent stories that enhance the value of loyalty and belonging. He added that the two Senyar games of Fishing and Diving are a successful example of the successful using of technology by simulating the Senyar Championship organized by Katara, and he added that we hope this online edition will be the same as its first edition interesting and useful to children and young people, and to contribute in increasing their culture about Qatari marine environment. He praised the efforts of the Qatari Foundation of Social Work and the Centers in general, and emphasized on the role of Aman Center and the importance of this project.

The main advantages of the game: Special prizes for the winners:

The unique and exclusive in this game that there will be a variety of prizes for the winners and leaders, from the center of Aman and Katara and their partners, in order to attract children to the game, and the draw of the prizes will be done at the end of the participation on 4 April for each one visited the pavilion and played the game. A Large dragnet will be installed in the middle of the pavilion, visitors of the pavilion after playing and downloading the game will choose a conch and open it to receive the prize. The prizes will reach to 100 prizes of 17 thousand, including 20 coupons worth 300 QR, 30 coupons worth 200 QR and 50 coupons worth QR 100. The game allows children to know more about the Qatari marine environment, marine history and heritage, types of vessels, fishing methods, fish and pearl diving, and also provide them with marine culture, fishing areas in Qatar and other information on the Qatari environment and culture. Which will have a positive impact on the culture of children in Qatar, as "player" can download the application on mobile and electronic devices over the Internet and the child is competing with a default player or a team in the field of fishing and diving and plays in the same way as the championship, and on the other hand, the project includes the procedures of protecting the game electronically, and the intellectual property rights of the game has been documented by legal means applicable to the concerned authorities in Qatar.

Partnership with "Katara" in the project Game:

 Senyar (2) Diving is an online edition of the annual Senyar Championship, which includes challenge of fishing and pearl diving. The game was chosen to raise awareness of local culture and to ensure that the topic is familiar to the child as an alternative to electronic games that disseminate harmful and wrong concepts and behaviors in children as a result of violence in those games.  Katara has previously organized special marine activities for children, such as children's Haddak and children and young people Senyar under the name of  " Al –Mina " Championship, it is worth mentioning that the General Cultural Village Foundation  of Katara has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Qatar Foundation of Social Work to support and strengthen partnership and cooperation with the centers affiliated to it, in addition to achieve the common goals and enhancing the exchange of experiences between the two institutions.

Sharifa Al Saad - Production Specialist at Aman Center said that, the team has been working on developing the technical aspects of the game so as to be interactive, fun and useful for the child. The development of the game has witnessed fruitful cooperation between the Center of Aman and a number of Qatari cadres and staff in Katara and also the organizers of Senyar Championship, to provide all the needs of the electronic Senyar Game in terms of collecting basic information about the championship and how to recruit it in the game, in addition to the identification of some of the conditions and laws of the championship to provide a simplified edition for the children.

Hamian Al-Misnad, Production specialist at Aman Center, stressed the importance of devising ways to attract the child and at the same time contribute to the delivery of the message and the aim. Senyar Diving Game is a safe and fun game for the child and in this game the child will learn about Qatar's culture and identity as well as introduce children to the culture of the State of Qatar to preserve the cultural heritage of the country with its traditional features. The game also seeks to instill the legacy of parents and grandparents in the hearts of today's generations with all its rich values of heroism, sacrifice and struggle.

Previous projects of Aman center for Child:

 Aman Center is concerned with child-related issues through its programs, activities and events as well as focusing on educating and protecting children. Last year, the Center launched the "Aman Watch for Child to watch the child movements" and launched the campaign of "Do not Touch" against harassment, and both initiatives are still ongoing. In addition, Aman launched Senyar (1) Fishing as the first Qatari online non-violent game, also launched "Sa3edny" application to report any child abuse, as well as to the supplement of the role of the Center in raising and protecting the child, this game has been launched as a Senyar (2) Diving to be an alternative to other electronic games which characterized with violence.

About AMAN Center:

In the year of 2002, Her Highness Sheikha / Mozah Bint Nasser established the Protection and Social Rehabilitation Center (AMAN) in order to contribute to human and social development in the State and to provide services to the target categories of violence and family fractures victims from children and women and those who may expose to it according to the criteria set for each category in the fields of social protection, rehabilitation and social rehabilitation, also awareness and education.
